At the exit of Varna and in direction of Shumen, discover the vestiges of the ancient roman city known under the name of Abritus.
Located at 170 km of Varna and thus at approximately 2 hours of road (take the exit of Varna towards Shumen), Razgrad is a splendid small pleasant village to visit, very sunny in summer and very green. The town of Razgrad was built on the ruins of the antique Abritus Roman city and figure on Arab charts of the 12th century.
To 140 km of Varna (2 hours of road), at the town of Svechtari , is the national reserve of Sboryanovo. You will be surprised to see some 7 meters tops monticules established everywhere in the valley. They are thracians tombs formerly built underground.
Visiting the North-East of Bulgaria in summer includes obligatorily a passage as well as a halt on the historic site of Demir Baba Teke.
The area of Ruce counts two important monasteries including the rupestral monastery Saint Dimitar Bassarbovski called BASSARBOVO.
