The ruins of the Roman thermal baths located at Varna and more precisely at Odesso constitute one of the most important elements of the historical heritage of Varna but also the largest Roman building of all Bulgaria.
The thermal baths are practically located in front of the seaside, in the south of Varna close to the Black Sea and the maritime park.
The ruins occupy a surface of approximately 7.000 m ² for 21 meters in height.
These ruins, count among largest of the remained ruins of the Roman Empire.
The thermal baths were built out of stones and bricks and the interior walls, at the time, were covered with marble. It was formerly a very attended place and one dates these thermal baths from year 158, of the local currency of the time was even found in the drains of the thermal baths.
This place attracts crowd and has been visited by more than 18.000 people every year and for the majority, by the tourists.
To visit them will know that the thermal baths are opened to the visitors the every day from 10:00am to 17:00 except Monday, day of closing.
