Belassitsa : the Bulgarian mountain

Belassitsa

The mountain of Belassitsa is on the border between Greece and Macedonia. It's a little known mountain. The Bulgarian side of the mountain was declared a natural park in 2007. The park lies mostly on the northern slopes of Mount Belasitsa in the Bulgarian part of the massif and covers about 12,000 hectares.At the foot of the mountain, is located the town of Petrich. The massive Belasitsa three peaks: Belasitsa, CONGORIVES and Radomir.

  • Belasitsa Summit: This is the town of Petrich as a share of tourist routes leading to the cottage Belasitsa.
  • Summit CONGORIVES: Another road leads to the cottage CONGORIVES and reached the peak of the mountain which rises to the top of CONGORIVES.


Radomir Summit: a third route provides an opportunity for tourists to rest in the villages of Kolarovo, Lopovo, Samuilovo, then climb the highest peak: the summit which rises to Radomir 2029 meters.All these tourist routes are well marked, and some routes are subject to better prepare your trip to suit your needs:


  • 1st route : Butterflies and flowers Belasitsa


We start from the village of Yavornitsa. During the walk, walkers are aware of a multitude of species of butterflies and many plant species.

  • 2nd route: The life of the chestnut


This is a walk in a circle, whose starting point is the village of Kolarovo, then passes through a small lake to finally return to Kolarovo.
